One of the biggest standouts of Nyege Nyege Festival’s 10-year anniversary was the explosive debut of singeli supergroup Pili Pili Girls. Bringing together four of the scene’s most iconic performers, the group combines classic singeli cuts with otherworldly stage gymnastics, twerking on the mic, rallying crowds into mosh pits and pulling audiences into spontaneous choreographies — channeling the street rave energy of Dar es Salaam onto club stages and now major festivals around the world (premiering internationally at Roskilde Festival).

Pili Pili is the ultimate spice: OGs Anti Vairas, Kadilida, Nana, with Zai on the decks, forming a powerhouse lineup drawn directly from the beating heart of the singeli scene.

With a debut album slated for November 2026, this supergroup pushes singeli performance into new territory, adding a full live dynamic that expands beyond the one-person rave format associated with artists like Travella or Jay Mitta.
