ANDERSON DO PARAÍSO
Anderson do Paraíso is the Belo Horizonte outlier who turned baile funk inside out — ghosted percussion, cavernous reverb, orchestral fragments and pure negative space, engineered for dark rooms and heavyweight systems.
Through his Nyege Nyege Tapes releases Queridão and Paraíso Sombrio, his slow-burn “Funk BH” language travelled far beyond Brazil, landing in year-end conversations across Resident Advisor and Pitchfork, while Boomkat famously ranked Queridão as their #1 album of 2023. The Fader and Mixmag further spotlighted him as one of the defining producers reshaping contemporary club music.
Recent performances include Unsound Festival (Kraków), Le Guess Who?, Terraforma, Abrupt Festival (Brussels) and OUT.FEST 2025 — confirming his position as a key figure connecting Brazilian street bailes to the most forward-facing international stages.
On the dancefloor, Anderson works with tension and restraint: baile funk reduced to its pressure points, sensual and ominous in equal measure, built for dancers who move inside the space between the kicks.
